Chocolate Mousse

Ingredients

600 g cream cheese (V1 & V2), room temperature
3 tbsp organic cocoa powder (V1)
6 tbsp confectioners sweetener (V1)
150 g dark sugar-free chocolate (V2)
You are craving sweets but you don't have time to bake a cheesecake or brownies? This quick chocolate mousse is made of 3 ingredients in 5 minutes!

Instructions

1.(V1) Use a hand mixer to whip cream cheese with confectioners sweetener and cocoa powder. Mix until they are evenly combined. Divide into 4 bowls. Choose your toping (fresh fruits, fruit jam, nuts, caramel...) and let it cool for an hour in the fridge
2.(V2) Melt the chocolate in a microwave or in a double boiler. Use a hand mixer to whip cream cheese with confectioners sweetener (if you are adding any. I personally don't) and molten chocolate. Mix until they are evenly combined. Divide into 4 bowls. Choose your topping (fresh fruits, fruit jam, nuts, caramel...) and let it cool for an hour in the fridge

Chocolate Mousse is one of the desserts you can whip up in a couple of minutes, but it tastes as if you spent hours making it. This is a very simple recipe to follow, I guarantee any kitchen newbie will be able to make it! It is a very simple, yet very delicious dessert.

This mousse can also be used as a filling for other desserts. You can serve it with a variety of toppings ranging from fresh fruits, nuts, coconut flakes, caramel toppings or plain and simple, as it is.

There are actually two variations of this mousse and I make both. One is with chocolate, the other one with cocoa powder only. They are equally delicious. Ok, maybe the one with chocolate is slightly creamier, but it also has more calories. Nutritive value was the reason I came up with the other one, with fewer calories. Here you can find both. It is up to you to decide which one is more to your taste (or matches your macros).

Note: Version 1 (V1) is with cocoa powder and it is lower in calories. Version 2 (V2) is with dark sugar-free chocolate and it has some more calories, but it is also a bit creamier. Nutritive information is counting total carbs, but most of the carbs in this recipe are actually sugar alcohols.
