What is ketosis and how it works?

Ketosis is a condition characterized by the enhanced production of ketone bodies. Ketones are chemical substances that the body makes when it does not have enough insulin in the blood. When our body is fat-adapted, it starts using ketones as fuel instead of glucose, and we are in the state of ketosis.
